Meet Founders

Calcutta Cacophony began in 2014, at a moment when Kolkata was witnessing intense brain drain and young people were being told to leave to succeed. It started as a feeling rather than a plan, a need to hold space for culture, conversation and belonging. Built by two teenagers with no blueprint, CC grew by listening to the city, documenting what already existed, and giving people reasons to stay curious. At its heart, Calcutta Cacophony has always believed that cities grow when their stories, communities and creative energies are seen, shared and sustained, especially in places historically overlooked like Kolkata, India.

Ankita Chakraborty

Co-Founder

Ankita came into marketing through communication, and into communication through curiosity about people and stories. Now based in New York, she works across global contexts while still building from Kolkata, making sure ideas align with people, relevance and what actually feels right for the work itself. Outside work, she is usually cooking, or quietly nerding out over cuisines.

Rishi Raj Ghosh

Co-Founder

Rishi Raj Ghosh- Rishi comes from hospitality and agencies, but is happiest on the ground, where ideas meet logistics and things actually get done. He brings balance and structure to the chaos, making sure plans run smoothly, scale sensibly and don’t fall apart mid-way. When he’s not making things run on time, he’s usually hunting down Hot Wheels, especially anything Batman related.
